“We had a class reunion last year. I thought I would take some old photos with me. I was in touch with a few old school friends and I asked them to do the same. But I was conscious that if I took these photos with me they were the only copies I had. Back in the 80’s there was no digital and no web. So my friends sent me their photos and we collectively used the My Loving Memories service to get the images onto CD and then we printed out copies to take. We saved our originals from getting lost or damaged on the night.
“I know for a fact that a few others within the group have subsequently used the My Loving Memories service for their own family collections. I’ll definitely be using the service again once I sort out my boxes of old family prints”

When my grandmother passed away, my entire family came together from all over the country to celebrate her life and reminisce. My uncle flew down from Scotland to attend the funeral, and by the time he arrived, I had an entire photo collection scanned onto My Loving Memories CD for him to take back. We were also able to view a digital tribute of nanny smith via the Loving Memories web site with her trademark walking stick traveling and enjoying her 8 grandchildren over the years.

A great way of doing a best-mans speech, I collected about 200 images of my mate from various relatives got them all scanned in from My Loving Memories put them together in a slide show. I did my speech and then turned on my pre loaded laptop which, with a borrowed projector projected them onto the wall of the reception which kept everyone amused long into the evening.

"My mother passed away a year ago, and it really drove home the need for a service like My Loving Memories. We had tons of pictures, but it would take quite an effort to make them available in the format we needed – My Loving Memories took the issue away by archiving all our pictures. Best of all we can see them online at any time on the Loving Memories secure web site.’’

"I'm just glad there's a service like this," says Jackie Littlewood, a sixth form teacher, who had 350 pictures scanned through My Loving Memories. Jackie's son who was leaving home, had asked her to give him some childhood pictures. "But we only had one copy of each photo.," she says. My Loving Memories ensured the images were picked up securely and returned without any worries to Jackie once they where scanned.

Mark Delliote from London, used My Loving Memories to get 8,000 pictures scanned. While traveling to Yorkshire for a friend's funeral last year, he used the digital images to create a slide show with music. He says the pictures were flashed on a big screen at a gathering of family after the service. The web site has been accessed dozens of times by his relatives to view and download their personal favourites.

Theresa Hull, from Cardiff, says when she heard about My Loving Memories scanning service, she brought in 500 photos in a plastic crate! "The purpose was to give copies of all of them to my ex-husband," she says. "We're still on great terms, obvious ones we divided up but we agreed to duplicate everything else."

When his father died in 2005, Dave Coleman, manager of a local insurance company in Colchester, inherited boxes of black-and-white photos and was motivated to make copies for his children as a record of their family history. After a few evenings spent scanning some himself, he gave up realising it would take months.
Then last year he learned about our online mail-order service ‘My Loving Memories’ that could scan the photos, put on a CD and placed them on a secure web site. Dave used the service, and then used the images to create a set of mugs of his father's life using www.spice.co.uk an online merchandising company affiliated with My Loving Memories.
Since then, he has used the scanning service to digitise all of his mother's old pictures as well as the pictures he took before he switched to digital cameras five years ago. "I've had 2,000 photographs scanned, now the fun begins!" he says. He used some of the images to make t-shirts for his son’s 18th birthday party.

"Catching up with my photo albums can become such a big task that I just don't want to do it," says Lucy Smith "Forget about sequence, forget about cute photo borders and colorful lettering. I just date each photo and send them to My Loving Memories, and I’m now in better shape than I was before with my CD collection."

James Lewis from Nottingham, says when he saw the My Loving Memories scanning service and web site he sent by recorded delivery over 4,000 photos from his 25 year old relationship with his ex-wife. ‘’I didn’t want to have the pictures cut up which would upset the boys and I didn’t want to argue who gets what photo. This way I can give copies to my ex-wife on CD and add new ones to our joint web site for the children to access," he says. "To be honest, we don’t talk to each other if we can help it, but by having My Loving Memories service we can keep our early history intact for the sake of the kids."

“I’t took me a long time to convert to a digital camera and however haphazard our photo albums are, our two children now delight in clicking through the online web pages. Since pre-school, they have laughed at the same photos over and over and again - as though seeing them for the first time”.
“Children don't remember their first three years of life, their only chance for learning what they looked like as babies are through photographs."
“Photos keep passed away relatives alive in children's hearts. Seeing pictures of Grandpa and talking about him we always remember our own personal moments. Adults tend to think that kids just 'get over' a loss, but talking about and seeing a loved one helps children come to terms with a loss."
Mr.Connell
“A fantastic service and until I stumbled upon the web site something I hadn’t considered before. On sorting out my photos I was surprised at the quality of some of the early 70’s ones were really quite bad, which made me even more determined to preserve them”
Stuart, Ely Cambridgeshire
Personally we are not great photo takers and I haven’t got much of my childhood in photographic format. But my uncle is an avid photographer and over the years his collection became our collection he always shows us old images of us all when we see him. Then we would leave and think no more of it. I heard about My Loving Memories through a friend and thought great but I haven’t got enough to warrant a CD full. But then I thought wouldn’t it be great If we could have my uncles collection as well. So I told my uncle to box them up and send them off which he soon did. He got a CD for himself and he sent us all one as well as a stocking filler for Christmas. A great present and a great service”
